I joined expat.com on 10 September 2017.
I'am a Thai Chef looking for a relocation to this area for a period of more or less 3 years.
I have never been there but heard very good things about the place and people. A friend of mine used to live there for many years.

Work and Family.
Hua Hin is a nice beach resort with a lot of options where still small city, you can find almost anything you need, good schools, good restaurants, good hospitals, airport.. nice place, used to come here a lot a decade or so ago when the place was a very small town. It is growing very fast now.
Didn't lived enough time to dislike something. ;D
Thai Chef at various hotels in the area.
Nothing much to do, just work and family.
It can get too quiet sometimes which is bad for business.
Used to own a Thai food delivery business with my husband, we work on this project for 2 years and then we close the business and moved to Thailand. Thai food is not the favorite one to Brazilians, instead plenty of Japanese restaurants in the area.
Medium size city with all amenities of a big city, you do not need a car, everything is close by. Nice and clean beaches with a few people, good to relax.
Nothing much to dislike, Itajai has lot of foreign passing by because there is one of the biggest maritime port in Brazil located there. Most people living there are descendent of Germany and they have their own customs and does not like to mix with the other ethnic groups living in the same area.
It was almost 2 years living in a familiar environment, learning Portuguese language, Brazilian customs among other things. A few trips to the country side, mountains and beaches. Beautiful country without any doubt.
Sao Paolo is a huge city, you will meet people from all nationalities, a few Thais living there, most of them working with food, massage and muay thai.
Everything in Sao Paolo is far way, take tong time to move across the city. Prices are a little high for the quality offered.
