Introduction

42 year old male experiencing severe culture shock. I have been here almost a year and it hasn't improved. I am a very shy and am an introverted person (in the beginning) living in a country full of jovial and outgoing Ticos. Help me!

I joined expat.com on 16 November 2017.

I can speak English and some Spanish. I have a hard time interpreting Spanish because of the velocity at which the natives speak. I find that I tend to freeze up and have a hard time getting the words out around natives I don't know personally.
Interests reading, Swimming, history, taking photos, anything outdoors, exploring new places, "conspiracy theories", sports (the kind you yourself play) exercising, caves
