Coffee, cacao, trout, chickens, dried fruit, hostelry, real estate, building construction , language instruction, percussion and drum musician.
Ecuador was what we expected. 1. Poor don't starve 2. Cheap to live 3. Small country, lots of diversity, easy to travel. 4. No war 5. Few rules 6. Easy for anyone with a little money. 7. Simple Spanish compared to other countries.
Too many foreigners who want to live like rich "gringos" and clan together in ridiculously overpriced false environments, creating splits in the culture. No worries, seen this all over the world. Can't lie, really miss next day delivery from the Internet, garage sales, all that stuff on sale at my local home depot,using only plastic to buy everything, and buying, buying, buying. It was a major pastime.
