My husband and I were born and raised in the middle of the USA. I am newly self employed and my husband works in corrections. He lived in Germany for three years before we met and we recently reconnected with family born and raised in Mittle Franken that we haven't seen in 20 years. I have fallen in love with the culture, the food and the people. We are evaluating our options for the future and are considering living in Germany after retirement where we can be near our family.

Bavaria is beautiful and I cannot wait for the opportunity to explore further.
We enjoyed the foods and ease of access to all things needed within walking distance. The local shop owners were helpful, genuine and very hospitable.
We anticipated temperatures 20 degrees cooler than experienced at home based on the weather information and temperatures recorded up to our arrival. It was adjusting to a top floor apartment with little or no air flow or AC. After the first week we were okay! There are no weather guarantees in the middle of the USA either!!!
I grew up with a large older extended family. and no siblings. Now I have my husband, our two children, my mom and several cousins. My family here is shrinking fast ? I plan to continue building my massage business and put money aside for our next adventure in Germany.
I live the freedoms my father fought for in WW2 and Korea.
We like this destination, but we want to live where we have family and can be a part of their lives.
