Originally from NW London, worked on the London Underground from 1969, then in Hong Kong from 1977 to 1989, in the US until 1999, then back in the UK (intermittently) as a rail transport consultant with assignments in Singapore, the Philippines for almost three years, Seoul, before returning to Hong Kong in 2007, thence to Melbourne, Australia for two years before retiring in 2010.
