I plan to move to Viet Nam, probably Danang, in December 2019. I will making at least two visits before then to see what is available in rentals in Danang. Im a pretty avid gardener, and for past 4 years have been living in the small tourist town of Aonang, Krabi Thailand...not far from Phuket. I have been really happy to be in a quiet culdesac that is full of trees and has a large space where Ive created a nice garden on a space that was a trash strewn vacant lot, right next to my second floor apartment. Ive been to Viet Nam once in April 2019, for ten days, and really liked what I saw. My little town is being over-run with new hotels and it is losing its charm, so Im ready to try another locale. And Thailand is making more and more difficult requirements for retirees. Id really like to find an older free standing home with several bedrooms and an ample garden space, in an area with a lot of mature trees. I dont know if such continues to exist, but this is my first attempt to identify options.

I?m largely retired, with a couple of small rental properties in CA. And I love to garden
I like the cosmopolitan feel of Danang, the fresh air, the variety of food (and I like Vietnamese food), beautiful beach and river area, and the people.
The traffic is something I have to get used to. I do like that almost all of the legions of motorcyclists wear helmets.
Rental property purchase, rehab, re-sale and/or mgmt Grew a wonderful garden around an old farm cottage back in the woods.
The ocean, the clean air and water, the green, the people
Pretty touristy in the high season. Massively increased rents and realestate prices drive out the middle class.
