In 2017, I completed my final year of my undergraduate radiography degree from Charles Sturt University with my final placement at I-Med Darwin, before being offered and accepting a full-time position with the company. As such, I have developed and maintained a strong sense of loyalty for this department as well as a love for working in Darwin. Over the past year and a half, I have trained in the CT modality, demonstrating my ability to quickly learn new skills, becoming proficient in the modality but also knowing when to seek advice from more experienced technicians. Im confident in all CT scans, interventional cases like injections, biopsys and drainages. Also can preform Dental scans, Perths Protocol, Biometric/Zimmer Knees and in the process of becoming more experienced in Cardiac CT scans. I preform all xrays, mobile xrays, defense xrays, screening room, OPGs, BMDs and theatre C-arm. I also do general on call and CT on call. I also work as an assistant MRI technician, safety screening and setting up the room. As an experienced radiographer, I am acutely aware of the importance of communication and the patient rapport required to successfully build therapeutic relationships and achieve therapeutic goals. I firmly believe that much of patients anxiety and angst can be ameliorated through effective communication, empathy and compassion. I continuously demonstrate these values throughout my time in general Xray, CT radiography, as well as through my experience assisting in MRI.
