Hello welcome to my Blurb.... I have always found it strange to have to write one of these, what if I am not really what I say I am? I never had to hang out with myself for a day. Well, I have but I haven't, you know what I mean? Ok so here goes nothing. I've been in New Caledonia for a little over a year. I came here with my boyfriend, he is originally from here & I wanted to see his homeland. Who wouldn't want to see a tropical Island, right? Especially being from a colder climate, I am from Montreal, Quebec. Go Habs Go! Sorry TO fans. Well, to be honest I haven't really seen much because for one coming from a city such as Montreal I never got my license (you kinda of need one to get around here, not such the case back home), plus within a few days of being here I got pregnant . So most of the activities I looked forward to such as hiking, kite surfing, Snorkeling, running, playing squash, checking out the capoeira group here and trying some genuine kava were out of the question but in exchange we now have the cutest (as every parent would say of their own), little boy, named Lenny. So now life is back to as "normal" as it will be from now on. I've learned so much about myself by not only having a baby but being in a foreign country other than the US if you can call that a foreign country. I feel its time to get back to me and the things I enjoy even if it is just for a short amount of time (we might move again for our careers). I am someone who loves to learn, think and share what I know. Back home I would indulge in the cultural events scene here not so much, it is very rare that I know when or what is happening (wish the Caledonia weekly could be delivered to my home / PO box, maybe it can be after I finish this I'll look into that), My BF is not so into the cultural events and often forgets that I am and everyone else who is from here takes those events for granted :( My appetite for knowledge is huge. Maybe it comes from working in a bookstore for a little over 3 years then maybe not, I have always had a curious mind and value that as well as honesty and good manner in others. I love challenges almost of any kind, I'm always game to try things at least once! This includes strange foods/recipes. Im almost always optimistic even when things aren't my cup of tea,(as it would seem now not having my family and friend around me) , but I also like to spend some time looking, even analyzing the spilled milk. My Friends say I give great advice because I do this and have quite the knack for listening-my motto is ' I stand strong for what and whom you believe in beginning with your self.' I have an ever so tender spirit and an even gentler heart and would like to just have a friend who understands (English & Canada) without much explanation and share their experiences with me. Gosh, this is making me sound desperate...
