Try airbnb or couchsurfing. Sounds like you are the experimental types ... why pay crazy prices for average accommodation in Mumbai, when you can stay at people's homes cheaply or for free and also then make some friends and get to see the locality. ... Read More

No I don't think a foreigner can buy property - you need a PIO card (person of Indian Origin) which you get only if you marry an Indian or have an Indian parent. Buying property is quite a process as you would expect. Main thing to watch out for is ... Read More
