Importing car to Dominican Republic by Scorpiana

So I received a quote to have my car delivered from Florida to DR for about $1,200-seems reasonable. What kind of cost should I expect when it arrives to the DR and relinquished to the officials?

Gcjackson2277

@plannerIf I get my residency and ship my car what percentage will i pay? I know I will get some form of discounts. BMW x5 / Vin# starts with 5 which means it’s American made/assembly so I know I get the 20% exemption. Since I get one car and ... Read More

That’s interesting and I would like to know more. I believe that everyone psycho the 18% to register and tags etc. even with residency no one escapes that fee. 18% of 20k would be a $3,600. Can you share your experiences with the process? Read More
