Aloha I am Antoinette a retired RN living on The Big Island of Hawaii for 36 years. I married my husband after living in Colo. for 5 yrs. then moving back to Hawai'i. We are interested in moving to Equator because our pension will go farther there than here. I have lived in Jamaica W.I., Grand Cayman, St. Croix, Maui and The Big Island as well as California, Maimi, and Colorado. I like to ride horses, swim, live in the country on a farm as I do in Hawaii by the ocean. We have chickens and roosters, 3 goldens and a cat as well as can walk to the sea in less than 5 min. The temp. here is perfect. We also have lots of beautiful birds and coquis that sing all night long. So many questions I'd like to ask people there. Hope someone feels like writing and communicating.

Homesick for Hawai'i. Hated the COLD and SNOW Altitude gave me asthma. A real culture shock after living on The Big Island, Jamaica and Cayman.
Owned my own townhouse 1/2 mile from the Ocean.
Quality of Life Excellent!

Being out of America
Lived in a very rural area outside of Savannah La Mar no facilities. Washed clothes in the river. Got Malaria there. Married my 1st husband there. Got him legally to American. Lived in a thatch hut, didn't like the rats! Or 3 foot long centipede I saw.
Own a farm by the ocean. Came back 2009 and live here now. Same house by the ocean. Will sell it to move to Equador.
It is paradise but very expensive! Live by the ocean and can hear it at night. We have lovely coquis that make a soothing sound all night long. The temp is perfect.
Too expensive. We pay $5.00 for a gal of gas.
