Have lived in a suburb of Atlanta for last 26 years (business move). Before that, lived 14 years in Colorado. Met my wife when students in Vienna, Austria. Got married, planned to go around the world before we settled down. Got Australian work visa. While waiting for the Aussi consulate to return passports, we left for Mexico, with in-laws to forward passports to us when they came in. The passports never came, and after five months, we decided to head back home. Went to grad school and started a family. (Twenty years later, found that in-laws - and my folks - agreed not to forward the passports to Mexico. Not cool.) Now the kids are about thru college (last one graduates in June, 2012) and we are about retired. We want to live in various places for 3 to 6 months at a time, returning to see the grandkids, before heading out again. First place we are looking at is Loja, Ecuador. Wondering about Spanish language lessons there. Also what part of the city would work for renting an apartment. Any suggestions?
