Worked and lived here under a work visa. Now retired.
Beautiful country and people.
Home Affairs, like many government departments, dysfunctional. You can wait for years for a visa/permanent residence outcome and be denied, or pay someone and get it illegally. Poverty and crime in urban areas endemic. Due to long term government mismanagement electricity and water supply are threatened.
