I live in Vancouver with my husband and my 5 year old. I'm looking for a better life - one that involves more time with my child and less than a 60-hour work week. I'm also interested in having my child grow up in a culture that is not all about aquiring more stuff and text messaging. I long for white-sand beaches, warm Carribean breezes, and a feeling of community that I just have not found in Vancouver.
I joined expat.com on 14 March 2012.
scuba diving, snorkelling, hiking, biking?
Truthfully, haven't actually been there yet, but it's one of the places we're considering moving to. Love the weather, beaches. Seems like there are more activities there that appeal to us than in some other areas we've considered.
I've found no information whatsoever on moving there with kids or availability of good schools, so I assume this has not been a popular destination for expats with kids. This is one of my biggest concerns. Also worried about the proximity to a good hospital should the need arise. Thirdly, it seems that going from PE to other areas requires a bit more travel planning due to the lack of frequent flights out.
scuba diving, snorkelling, working out
weather, beaches, proximity to bilingual private schools
higher cost of accommodations/real estate than other areas of Mexico, risk of hurricanes, overly commercialized?
