Hello,I am not an expat yet but giving it serious thought. In the interim, I am here for an extended period and am looking to get a few small supplies and extra medication sent to me. Does anyone have any experience with receiving a courier package ...

I like to dance. by PennyScott

I like to dance, rock and roll, salsa, etc. I would like to know where the expats go to meet, mingle and dance to live music.

Shirley

Quality of life in Uruguay by duende123

My wife and I are considering Uruguay. We've made three trips to Buenos Aires (we're avid tango dancers), but to live, we still need some access to nature. We thought at least Montevideo has access to the water so you don't feel so confined. We ...

There's no denying that the streets of Montevideo are filled with trash (as well as dog doo-doo and graffiti), even in the more affluent neighborhoods. There doesn't seem to be a general cultural attitude of littering being a negative thing. ... Read More

How to show proof of income? by tryingtomakeit

I work as a sale's rep for a moving company. I work from home with a Vonage account. I can work from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. I make a descent living. Enough to show an income of more than $500 a month. From what I have ...

The way it works is that you document your income to the satisfaction of an escribano (something like a notary), who then writes a letter for Immigration. There are various ways of documenting your income, and different escribanos have different ... Read More
