I am an English professor, writer, mother, wife, blogger (not necessarily in that order), born in the Midwestern U.S., lived in Manhattan for more than twenty years, and now I live in Abu Dhabi, with my husband and two sons. Life in AD is a lot like life anywhere: I seem to have moved to Arabia and become a soccer mom. And yet, of course, my entire perspective has shifted dramatically; we live in a brand-new country (the UAE is only 40 years old) in an incredibly ancient part of the world. Join us on our adventures!
