Hello. I'm Randall Kleinbooi and am a South African. Thank you for welcoming me on board! My journey starts in the Eastern Cape of South Africa and was reared together with an older brother and sister. Our parents instilled in us a desire to learn and to help others learn. After completing a degree in Bio-medical Technology and a 120 hour TEFL certificate, I started working in South Korea Chungcheongnam Province on February 28th 2008 until March 30th 2011. I went home to Cape Town, South Africa and started in another Province in South Korea, Gyeongsangbuk Province since October 18th 2011 until present. I am a conservative family man with my wife Alma and our two boys Adam and Jared who we are trying to raise as our parents did. I have some Islamic family and thus am familiar with some of their customs and some Arabic words. I did some part time informal tutoring in Cape Town regarding Bio-Medical Technology to other colleagues and I feel this in part prepared me for this environment. I would like to think I am a flexible educator and only discovered this while being here in South Korea. I feel I was cut out for this type of work since finding complete joy out of educating minds in some aspect of my home language, English. I am actually bilingual and conversant equally in both English and Afrikaans (a derivative of Dutch). I do also speak broken survival Korean/Hangul. I worked with Elementary kids aged 3 to 14 and middle school kids aged 14 - 16 as well as adults. We covered conversational, situation English and grammar related topics. I made many friends in South Korea in the different cities i worked and am still in contact with them. I worked at 3 different schools in 2008 - 2011 and am doing the same presently. I look forward to work in Saudi or elsewhere in the Middle East. I will prepare myself mentally in the meant time. Thank you again for this forum. The best regards, Randall.
