I've been in Turkey for 22 years now. Came here to teach after a few years teaching in Greece. Only planned to stay for a 'year or two' !!! I love it here. After teaching for 6-7 years at some of the best schools and universities in the country, I decided to leave academe and was offered a job in the private sector as a copy editor/writer. Still working for the same company after 16+ years. Left Istanbul in 2000 and bought a house in a tiny village. I've been restoring it ever since. Owning a house is a full time job!! Plus, I have four dogs and a cat. They keep me really busy.
