I've lived in Celrà just outside Girona since 2005 and I think it is perfect; close to the city, not far from the sea. I run Girona Grapevine which is an expat group based in Girona. Although retired, I spend a lot of time doing graphic and web design mainly for friends (for money but not much!) So I never have a dull moment! I love being close to France and I often go on the train to Cerbère and beyond. Now (Dec 2013) one can catch a French TGV in Girona which goes all the way to Paris. I find that fascinating but I last used it just to go shopping in Perpignan. Have you guessed? I'm a train enthusiast!
