Hi! My name is Maddie. I'm a 23 year old South Australian student and I am currently completing a Bachelor of Public Relations (sub major Event Management). I love writing, meeting new people, a nice glass of wine and decent conversation! I fell in love with Bali quite recently compared to most others. It was our first family holiday in years, and I admit- I did not want to go. I'd never had any inclination to travel to Indonesia/ Asia. That all changed the second the plane touched down in Denpasar. I was never expecting to feel so at home amidst the bizarre amalgamation of total peace and veracious life in Bali. The culture and colours instilled in me a weird sort of calm that opened me eyes to all the different experiences a person can have in Bali. I had the worst and the best days of my life there in the short space of two weeks, and went back again as soon as my meager student budget allowed. I came home from that first trip to Bali with a clear mind and a happy heart, and began my studies in Adelaide. I hope to return to Bali for six weeks in 2013 to complete a work placement in the Event Management/ Public Relations field, and am hoping to gain a little more experience in Australia before moving to Bali upon the completion of my studies. I'm looking forward to chatting with anyone and everyone- people living in Bali, hoping to move to Bali or recently returned from Bali- particularly those with experience in Events (ie hotels, bars, functions centres, tourism) and/or PR. If you can suggest places to look for work placement that's even better! I'll be back in Bali in Feb 2013 and would love to catch up for a drink to learn more about life as an expat!
