I am an ex-pat coming from Utah, USA. My husband and I relocated to Vietnam in July 2012 for his career, and then to Germany in July 2013. I don't work out here yet but may attempt to find employment if I can learn the language ;) So far some experiences are good, some are not, and every day has a new challenge. Wish us luck!

The culture is closer to what I am used to, clean water in the house :D, great location, great people, lots of things to do. I can find all the health food I ever wanted. Modern conveniences - like ovens - are wonderful.
I am having a hard time picking up on the language, and it's difficult to find medical specialists that can communicate with me. There are some cultural differences that I struggle with, but overall we couldn't be happier.
It was beautiful, the people were friendly, we made amazing friends and had crazy amazing experiences.
Roaches, mosquitoes, fire ants everywhere, clothes molded multiple times, hard time finding healthy food, trying to get around on a motorbike without knowing the driving rules (ended up being kind of fun), being treated very differently by locals.
I grew up in Utah, in many different cities but always the same state. I traveled around the US but never out of the country.
It's beautiful, you have Mountains, lakes, beautiful red-rock deserts, canyons, reservoirs, snow, everything but moisture I suppose. I grew up there so I am at home there, I know how everything works and how to get around. The best part about home is all of our family is there.
Sometimes the culture can be rather pigheaded and close-minded.
