I am a Montessori teacher who has taken a job in Switzerland for the year. My wife and I live in Neuchatel now, having arrived on August 10. I teach in a bilingual Montessori school, first and second graders. We are both writers as well. My wife is working on a book about our year in Bergamo in 1983-1984. I am writing a children's novel in my spare time called, Billy Baker's War. We have a son at home, twenty-six, who is holding down the fort as well as taking care of our two rather large dogs: Sheba, and Benson. The people here have been great, but we are also missing our family and friends. I hope to connect with other English speakers via this forum. It's been somewhat stressful at times hearing so much French. I had a two years in college, and two in high school, and I'm learning everyday, but sometimes it can feel overwhelming. Neuchatel is beautiful! We are enjoying the street life, and the culture, the hiking, the new learning and new friends.
