Being initiated into Chinese life.
Due to being so close to Russia, it had a lot of Russian charm and somewhat European food to eat. The food in Northern China is much more delious than the food down south.
It's very dirty and the level of English here is abnormally horrendous.

My whole life.
This is a very cultural city, much like New York. It isn't much to look at but there are many cultural activities to feed your mind and many different cuisines to titillate your palette.
There's a lot to do (most of it free or at least very affordable), but if you get lazy about it, it's easy to find this place boring and uninspiring.
