I moved to Paraguay from the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area where I taught college for 17 years in the area of International Business. I also ran my own computer consulting company for 8 years and worked in the advertising, public relations and marketing industries. I adopted my son from Paraguay as a baby in 1989 and started my love affair with this wonderful country. I began doing volunteer work here in 1995 and started Paraguay Hecho a Mano USA, Inc. and Paraguay Hecho a Mano Paraguay in 1996 to help indigenous artisans with my best friends, Osvaldo Codas and his wife Alejandra Pena Gill. We also developed and produce a tour program for Paraguayan adoptees and their adoptive parents called Paraguayan Ties that has been running for 12 years and has brought hundreds of Paraguayan American adolescents and teens and their familes back to experience the wonderful cultural heritage of this great land! Now I am teaching high school math and economics at the Pan American International School in Luque, and I'm also an investor in the restored Hotel del Lago in San Bernardino. My son is now a junior at the University of Wisconsin where he is studying marketing and business with a triple major in Spanish. I bought my house here in July 2007 and love living here all year round.
