Born and raised in Manila, Philippines until my Sophomore year in high school. Moved to California, finished high school; went on to college- Los Angeles City College then Calif State University, Los Angeles, graduated with BA in Anthropology. Served 12 years active duty U.S. Army; stationed in Japan, Philippines, Thailand, France and throughout continental U.S. Worked as HR Management specialist (civilian) for Dept of Defense; stationed in Korea, The Netherlands, Germany; then Germany again. Have traveled to Spain numerous times during last assignment (2008-2011) in Germany (also to Paris, Budapest, Vienna, Poland, Czech Republic, etc). Back in the U.S. now (Blaine, WA, right next door to Vancouver, BC, Canada) hoping to travel again soon. Would like to reside (retire) either in the Philippines or Spain. Speak Tagalog, French & Spanish (and some Chinese-Mandarin). Would like to teach ESL in Spain or in the Philippines (I taught ESL in Korea). My big dream is to write a travelogue covering the fiestas/festivals throughout the Philippines, complete with plenty of photographs and detailed commentaries about the history, practices and other significant information about the fiestas. Would like to start from the northernmost islands, cris-crossing Luzon, move on down south to the Tagalog region, on to the Bicol region, then across the Visayas...east to west all the way to Palawan, then head on down to Mindanao and beyond. I anticipate that this project would take about two years...maybe more. I would like to have a partner (male or female) on this project. What a great way to spend my retirement!
