I am currently living in Hoi An, and find a lovely, relaxing place. I volunteer teaching English and pursue some of my own hobbies as well. Most of them involve doing science experiments.
I joined expat.com on 13 February 2013.
I volunteer as an English teacher to several private students, and one school that uses English speakers as assistants to the teachers. The they teach the grammar, we teach the pronunciation and the idiom.
Slow pace of life. Nice people, great beaches, and enough tourists and ex-pats to have a chat with.
I didn't know it would be so cold in the winter. I didn't like the humidity in September and October. There is a dire lack of facilities such as live music. Ordinary consumer goods that I am used to buying in a supermarket don't exist. They include duct tape, cheeses, PVA glue and hat elastic.
