Introduction

Massiel Sánchez (1984) was born in San-Juan de La Maguana, Dominican Republic. She has lived in the Netherlands for over twenty years, but also in Australia and Kenya. Momentarily she lives in Utrecht and finishing an M.A. in New Media and Digital Culture at the University of Amsterdam. She likes to work as a freelance producer, director and reporter in short docs. Last but not least, she is more than interested in issues regarding digital culture, gender and Internet Freedom. Momentarily, she is finishing my masters in New Media and Digital Culture at the university of Amsterdam. Her question to those blogging here is simple, for her masters' thesis, Massiel wants / needs to find at least 15 students who'd like to share their study experiences in the Netherlands. She is particularly interested in their experience of technology as they transferred to the Netherlands, or back to Kenya. Her first question to you is, would you be willing to be part of this research, (your name will not appear in the research, if you don't like this), and / or if you know of any institutions or students (from Kenya) who'd like to assist me in finding these students? I believe this subject deserves greater attention. As Kenya ( a country I have worked in a lot over the last few years) is expanding and broadening its use of technology, this is the time to capture the thoughts of students from Kenya and their views on media and technology so far. She hopes you can help her. You can reach her on 06 2654 7653, or e-mail: cristinamackaay@gmail.com, or skype at massiel.sanchez
