I am originally from New York, relocated to North Carolina in the 1980's, then to Texas in 2009, after marrying my second husband in a local Starbucks, lol. Hubby is looking to take an early retirement in 2014 and we'd like to find someplace with a simpler way of life and a new culture to immerse ourselves in. We're hoping Ecuador would be that place, but we'd like to get to know about how life REALLY is there, not just what you are told by realtors and travel groups that make it sound like the most perfect place on earth. We're expecting there is good and bad as in most places.
