Is it very hard to find a doctor who is able to prescribe regular medication that one may require? (For example - thyroid medication, and insulin & supplies for a diabetic?)

My hubby and I are seriously considering a move to Ecuador. (We are not of retirement age yet, and would have to liquidate all of our assets inorder to make that move. Which won't be a large amount by today's standards.) Can an average person live ...
