My name's Laura, and as my handle already indicates, I feel a certain affinity to Canada. For the reason of my birthday (a round one), I intend to travel to Vancouver this year in September. Wanted to go there for such a long time already ... probably even for good when the likes there match my gut feeling of making over there. I don't even have the worst chances to achieve it. CIC immigration point calculator for skilled workers told me. :D I'm originally German, but moved to Strassen in Luxemburg about 8 years ago because all family is there. At the moment, I live and work near Lyon as a lab assistant in a mortar company. However, I've completed my master in Phonetics and Speech Science in Munich. Guess no one had any use for that ... at least it doesn't enhance your chance to find a job (is very interesting though). I'm like many girls out there: seeking the love of my life, wanting to have a family, working in my dream profession in my dream country, living in a dream house ... my little girl dream. And I'm going to achieve it with stamina, focus, determination, weird, black humor, and hopefully loads of new contacts and friends I make on the journey. Glad to meet you all! :D

Discover Vancouver and its vicinity to see if it would be also a place to stay longer. Maybe even for good, who knows? Heard only good things about it.
I'll see once I get there (September).
Dito!
Making a little money for a living, and for a possible emigration to Canada. Learning something new, and totally different from what I know as a studied Speech Scientist.
I finally found work there, yay! Good food Friendly, patient, and very helpful natives
French (the language, NOT the people)
Get outta there as quick as I can (despite the positives). Something irresistibly draws me to Western Canada, and I wanna find out what.
Family, friends and acquaintances, dog there Good food (sorry, couldn't resist;)) Friendly natives Luxemburgish (such a funny, peculiar, cute language)
No work :( French (the language)
Born in Cologne, raised and gone to school in Freiburg near the French border,, studied in Munich.
