Introduction

Hi I'm Maureen, wife of Brian and mother to Raymond 24, Jonathan 19 and James 8. We live in Ireland at present but would dearly love to relocate to Malta. Having spent 5 years here we are finding it very difficult to tolerate all the austerity we are being put under and are utterly disheartened by the really long and cold winters. We are in need of a fresh start somewhere warm for most of the year. Brian and I have holidayed in Malta a couple of years ago and fell in love with it. Our adult children would remain in their own accommodation in the countries they live in now so it's just 1 child who would be relocating but we would no doubt have a few visitors during the warm and cooler weather. I am a nurse and Brian has 25 or so years call centre experience. There are possibilities in Malta for us both. We need to make firm arrangements and bite the bullet. We also have a 12 yr old dog we'd like to bring as we couldn't leave her she's too much part of our family.

I joined expat.com on 29 May 2013.

Nothing really. Moved to be closer to Husband No;1's work place and to avoid awkward questions about education of our son.
