Hi All...I'm a retired member of the Royal Canadian Air Force. A great career lots of fun but that was then and this is now. I love Canada but am now ready for a more affordable, relaxing lifestyle in a warmer climate where hibernation for 6 months isn't required. The old bones don't take kindly to Canadian winters. I've only just begun the research to make the move and am looking for any helpfull hints from expats who have made the journey. I understand there are several thousand Canadian/Americans in Ecuador and am wondering if there is a favoured location for us, my wife and I, to consider. We do want to assimilate with the locals but also wish to make friends from home. Feel free to share your thoughts or ask questions.
