I am an American teacher who is planning to stay im Kurdistan as long as I can. I'd love to make some English speaking friends to experience this country with.
I joined expat.com on 21 September 2013.
I'll be working at a government university.
I live in the northern region of Iraq known as Kurdistan. I'm working on opening a new American University here. It's a lovely project.
The cost of living is low and the people are friendly.
Most people don't speak English so it makes it very hard to live.
My goal my first year here is purely to enjoy the slow beach living. It is beautiful and I am just now discovering how to snorkel and scuba dive. In the next several years it would be nice to find a guy to marry in these parts.
Beaches Friendly people Slower paced life BEACHES Sea turtles
There are not a ton of Muslim expats that I have found to hang out with. Most of my department spends all their free time drinking rather than exploring this beautiful country.
It was near Dubai
Cost of living was high and traffic was horrible.
