Post new topic

Duc 61

I just extended the visa I got on arrival a first time.

1) Can I extend this visa a second time? (to stay here until the beginning of next year)

or do I need to leave the country?

2) Where can I find information on longer lasting visa?

I will highly appreciate any help.

Go tobthe local BI office and they will sort you out. As an example I extended my visa about 3 weeks after arrival. The office issued me with a double extension for a month and 6 months. I have since applied for a 13a visa and while that is being processed was issued with a futher 2 month extension. One can stay, as a tourist, by extending your visa for a maximum of 3 years

Visa extensions:  Last summer I stayed for five months in Castillejos.  I'm not married to a filipina and don't have an SRRV retirement visa, so I was there on a tourist visa.  I extended my visa at the Olangapo Bureau of Immigration office.  They allowed me to do only a one-month extension the first time.  Afterwards, I was able to return to that office and do extensions of two months at a time.  My understanding is that you can continuously extend a tourist visa for up to three years before you must leave the country.

On another post you asked about an online marriage in Utah.

You have to be married in order to get a 13A.

But first you must get an ARC-1, after 59 days you can apply for the 13A which requires a clearance from the NBI (National Bureau of Investigation).

@Larry Fisher I got my 13A before the pandemic. It was easy once I found BI’s “checklist.” Took about 5 or 6 weeks, as I recall, after we went for the interview and paperwork submission.

I don’t recall the cost, unfortunately.

At that time, select BI satellite offices could process the paperwork. Unfortunately, BI has enacted a policy that all 13A work will be at the main BI office in Intramuros, Manila. Did my renewal there and found it to be chaos (before the pandemic). Now, I think they have implemented an appointment system that may cut the chaos.

Many people recommended using an expediter. As I understand it, they do all the footwork, but an interview is still required with you and your wife.

Once you receive your 13A, there is a requirement to renew each year during January and February. Cost is 310 PHP, and can be done at select BI offices in about 15-20 minutes with an appointment.

@ikewatters58 you can extend it up to 36 months normally you would do 2 months then you can do 6 months

Hope that's what you wanted to know

@Duc 61  Unless things have changed very recently. You can renew your visa. After I believe the 2 renewal you can renew your visa for up to 6 mos at a time at your local immigration office. You can renew it up to 1 year at the office in Manila.

If you want the straight facts either view the information on line. immigration.gov.ph. Or check with the local immigration office. Your visa must be renewed 7 days prior to expiring.

A word of caution do this yourself and do not accept offers from others there to help. You could easily get scammed or pay much more than needed

With all due respect Filipinos and the Philippines are beautiful. However there are scammers everywhere
