New in Belgium, registration proces in Commune

Post new topic

Hello people. Me and my husband came in Antwerpen in September. We applied in October 14 th, online for appoitment in Deurne for starting registration procedure (working and living). I attacheed all documents we had back then, and only got No reply answer that someone will contact us in three weeks and aplication number. Nothing happens from then. I sent mails but nothing. We are EU citizens so we don t need visa. I'm tracking locket migratie, they are processing applications from September 17 th 😱. Is it possible that this lasts so long and that they did not gave us same date to come for first appoitment? I'm little bit worried because we are now three monhts here and we don't have registration certificate and belgium id card, because of waiting that isn't our fault, we applied in time. Is there anyone who had similar situation of long waiting? Thank you

Cheryl

Hallo Ivan

Yes it is frustrating. I immigrated to Antwerp in October, my paperwork were handed in before the end of October. After a few calls to the gemeentehuis and to the wijkagent of my area the wijkagent did his inspection. Since then I received a booking confirmation for February.

After numerous emails and phone calls to the immigration section of the gemeente the appointment has been moved up to January. From what I can gather the immigration section in Deurne is far behind with the applications as the whole of antwerp’s application is done through the Deurne office.

I would recommend you contact your local wijkagent and find out if they have received your dosier if they have not been with you yet. The gemeente wont do anything regarding your booking before your address has not been confirmed by the wijkagent.

Secondly once the wijkagent did his visit give it a week, then phone stad antwerpen and speak to the immigration section. The system is currently offline, well since laat week. 032211333

I hope this helps.

Thank you verry much, but where i can find who is my wijkagent? Everyone said to me that first i have to go on the first appoitment in Deurne and after that agent comes to check. I'm so confused.

ivanalucicos1988

@Lourens Botes i coppy this from ibz.be"EU citizens wishing to reside in Belgium for more than three months must submit an application for a declaration of registration to the municipal authority of their place of residence, at the latest after the expiry of the three-month period from the date of arrival in Belgium [Annex 19 to the Royal Decree of 08.10.1981].The municipal authority registers the EU citizen who proves to be a national of an EU Member State in the waiting list register. If the EU citizen is actually residing in the municipality (positive residence check), the municipal authority registers him/her in the foreign nationals register."So i think first they have to put us on list and then is the check.

@ivanalucicos1988 Yes, usually it takes 6 weeks for them to send the police officer to your address ((

ivanalucicos1988

Yes but we didnt have first appoitment yet, i think after that they send agent, and now it s more than 8 weeks from application, and they didn't come even close with our papers. I m cheking on loket migratie the dates.

Gokhan A.

@ivanalucicos1988, have you got any appointment or invitation from Antwerp commune?

ivanalucicos1988

@Gokhan A. Nothing yet. I'm following the dates, and they are on 29 September, and we applied 14 October. I started to thinking that maybe we applied wrong because some other friends (also from EU) came after us and got appoitment before us. I really don't know what to think. It is frustrating, i tried to call, sending mails, nothing. On the site sais "don't come there if you don't have appointment".. They put two similar aplications for residence permit and we should know what is what. Like i said it is frustrating and funny.
