I don't understand 'special work permit for us filipinos' Can you explain more

Correct me if im wrong. Work permit is for other countries except for us filipinos, but if youre a domestic helper, you can have a work permit. The agency told us that the company request MoM for special permit for us, thats why we filipinos can have a work permit in FnB industry. My friends got approval to work or to have work permit, but i am the only one who got rejected, and the reason that MoM gave is "the applicant is not eligible for a work pass. Please look for another candidate". I dont get why they give me that reason. Can anyone help me to explain this more?

I got rejected by MoM for the reason of "the applicant is not eligible for a work pass. Please look for another candidate". That is what written in the rejection letter that agency gave me. Please explain it to me. So that next time i know what to do, because im new in SG.

@Lucky Roux "This applicant is not eligible for a work pass. Please look for another candidate." is a strong indication that you will not get any work pass, no matter what you do. If you want to appeal, you should first find out what the reason is.

But I recommend you look for a job in another counry instead, as your chances here are low.

I'm Indonesian, and also got same rejection reason "This candidate is not eligible to apply for a work pass. Please look for another candidate."

I work as an IT Consultant and the company i have applied to had told me the chance of getting work pass is very low since they did not get the specific reasons why I got rejected from MOM.

I have few friends got rejected as well. I think MOM just stricted the prerequisites.

@Rezdwi There are a plethora of reasons the MOM rejects a work pass application. You may need to start reviewing all the minimum requirements for the specific work pass / work permit you wish to apply for and ensure you meet the requirements first.

Key areas include salary, educational / training background, work experience in the specific sector / field, overall work experience profile etc.

My S-pass application was rejected with the same reason as well, the HR company is trying to appeal for it.

I was wondering, did you appeal for the rejection? If yes, how's the update?
