expat children attending government schools

Hello all,

My family and I will be moving to Brunei from the UK in June/July as I have a job with CfBT. We are all very excited to experience the 'Abode of Peace'. We still have a lot to decide, especially with regards to their schooling (Year 4 and Year 1). We don't love the fact that, as a government school teacher, I will not have the same holidays as my kids if they go to ISB or JIS. Does anyone have any experience of expat children attending government schools? Also, what are the other private schools like?
