Working in SG, staying in JB (Malaysia)

Arif Mohammad

I am on EP here in SG and family on DP, considering the option to relocate to JB by enrolling daughter in an international school. Get guardian visa for wife and find accommodation in JB.

I am ready to shuttle bw SG & JB. Is this a viable option. Anyone in this forum already doing it ? Pls share experience. Pros n Cons.

Brgds,

Arif

Apart from the obviously much lower quality of life in JB and the visa question (You seem to have worked that out for your kids and wife, but how about yourself? Please ask about this on the Malaysia forum!), daily commuting is only feasible to a selected few places in JB (Johore city, Gelang Patah, possibly Iskandar) and even there might take very long - dependig on the traffic.

Please also note that you will need a car in Malaysia (due to bad pubic transport), but cannot drive it into Singapore on a daily basis (due to restrictive regulations).
