Hi Guys,

My spouse's tourist visa will be expiring next week and already applied extension for 30 days. Is it possible to fly to Malaysia and stay there for a week and then apply for a tourist visa?

Anyone has the same experience. Thank you in advance!

Visa runs, such as you describe above, are NOT advisable for Singapore.

Better contact ICA and get an extension in time - and if that is not given, leave the country until ICA specifically tells that it is o.k. to return.

Note: Your description sounds like your spouse is (ab-) using the SVP to in fact live with you. The authorities do NOT like this, so if they suspect it, she will not get another SVP. The proper visas for this case are DP and LTVP.

Thank you beppi.

Agree with you better to follow a genuine path.

Yes, she will leave the country and will apply for a tourist visa after 10 - 12 days through a Singapore citizen.
