@Julien I am Cuban and I am thinking of requesting asylum in Germany, if you could tell me what that is like or tell me about someone who has requested asylum?

@bzyankiel314 Julien is the international site owner, living in Mauritius. I doubt he can tell you much about Germany.

But I can tell you that, in order to claim asylum here, you have to be politically persecuted in your home country (and able to prove it). It is not enough to come from a repressive country!

Furthermore, during the application process, which often takes years, you have to stay in government-provided camps, are not allowed to work (or otherwise earn money) and receive only the minimum necessary to live. So this is NOT a path to a better life, but a way for foreign dissidents to escape prison, torture or death at home.
