I am trying to get a residency in Ecuador with a degree from my university in the UK. What documents should I bring from the UK?

Dear Paul,

Basically, we're layman Expats here .. not likely

to be up-to-date on advising new arrivals on

the documents, apostilles, changes in the

list of requirements.

There is a list of universities that are pre-approved

for a professional visa.  However, visa applicants

are not necessarily denied if their school is not

on the list.

An immigration attorney or visa specialist who

works with this stuff ongoingly should be able to

assist you.

I have checked and my university is approved. I just to know what else is needed. Should they be translated to Spanish? Apostille? Criminal record check? Etc etc

@PaulSmith310784 Not a lawyer here in Ecuador, but when I got my professional visa I needed the apostilled diploma and then was able to have a translation made and notarized here in Ecuador... Can't remember what other documents they might have required, but I'm guessing original passport and copy at least.  You can always take a look on the SENESCYT site since they may have a list of requirements or a form on their website.

I'm doing it right now.

1. Diploma copy, notarized by the university, then apostille by secretary of state that the university is in.

2. Copy of transcripts, notarized and apostille.

3. Letter from the university stating classes were attended in person, not online. Notarized and apostille.

4. A notarized letter with an apostille signed by a university official stating the field of study and level of education according to the International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED) of Unesco

ALL have to be translated by a registered translator.

Then submit online at SENECYT.

Then apply for an appointment to give the hard copies of the above to them.

Also have to have the translation copies notarized by notary in Ecuador.

@Mark Putze Is your university listed with SENESCYT? Because in the past the transcripts/etc were only required for unlisted (not yet approved) universities.

PaulSmith310784

@antialiased Yes, my university is City University of London. And it's definitely listed. Thanks for your help. Regards,

@Mark Putze Noted. I was thinking to notarise them here in Britain. But as you recommended, it should be done there.
