US citizen looking for 1yr or 2yr visa

Good Day,

I am a US citizen currently in Ethiopia on a 90day tourist visa. I am looking to get a 1 year or 2 year tourist visa. Does either of these options still exist? I've received mixed information so I am wanting to know if anyone knows for sure if these options are still available.

Thanks.

@samuelhoward Why don't you ask the immigration?

Hello samuelhoward,

Just like Fikre Aberra, I also think you should check with immigration.

Here is the link to their official website > https://www.evisa.gov.et/

All the best,

Foreign nationals of Ethiopian Origin can get a 5 Years Yellow Card.

How to obtain Foreign National of Ethiopian Origin ID Card called Yellow Card.   You will need evidence that you are of Ethiopian Origin.

I have sent links from different Ethiopian Embassies abroad and documents & other information.

This law talks about Yellow Card holder rights. It is a very good read.

All this information was online. I hope it helps you.

Just read all the information and read the requirements section.   Remember Ethiopia has 11 Regions 2 Federal cities. You need to get documents from your parents/ grandparents originally  region or federal cities.

More evidence you have more cases will go well.

Each of the 11 Region & federal cities has a Diaspora office they will be very helpful too.

I wish you all the best.

Keep us updated on progress of case.

My family got Yellow Cards :)
