Dutch guy marrying a Moroccan woman

Post new topic

Alex Walsh

Has anyone from the Netherlands married a Moroccan woman?

I would like to know what the process is and what documents I need as these processes vary among different countries.

Hello Alex,

Your marriage will take place in Morocco, right ?

As above will this marriage take place in Morocco?

If not this forum is for formalities of getting Married in Morocco and the following information is for others coming from the Netherlands to get married in Morocco.

If so to start off the list of things you will need to prepare

1. Certified copy of your Birth Certificate. The type from the Netherlands you need to order from your local municipality is called "meertalig internationaal uittreksel" and you should order this in English or French.

2. A National Police Record. The type from The Netherlands is called "certificate of conduct (VOG)". The type that is used for emigrate purposes. Again this is from your local municipality or you can order it online. Request it in English or French.

A letter from your employer on their companies letter head which states, your job title, how long you have been working with the company and how much is your annual salary.

All of these 3 documents will need translating to Aracic in Morocco by a certified translator. Or sent by email to a translator before you come which saves a bit of time if you need to complete everything here fast.

You will also need the last 3 payslips. These don't need translating.

If you can confirm if you are coming to Morocco for marriage I'll add more information for the rest of what is required in Morocco that you need to do and organize.

Thanks and good luck!
