New Citizenship Income Requirement for Third Country Nationals

With respect that is not my understanding . . However it doesn't surprise me to hear of your experiences. I hear lots of chatter regarding this. I suspect it comes down to who deals with the initial and renewal application and that persons interpretation of requirements.

It might be a good idea to transfer money from abroad to your bank account in Cyprus and use a visa or credit card for expenses instead of cash.

This can be used to assist in a subsequent application for Pink Slip renewal as your bank statements will clearly show that you bring money to Cyprus from abroad. And that you spent that money on living expenses.

This is one of those situations where a local "fixer" can get things passed that ordinary folk like us can't ..

TBH ....For me it would put me off ....

@Toon they do already transfer from uk to cyprus account, i asked if they could transfer the remainder to my cyriot bank account and then back to theres, the answer was no it has to go back to uk one then back again! My parents are 81 and came here to enjoy the rest of there retirement!! But this just causes major stresses.

My husband and i have the 5 year mukw1 and have been told it wont be a problem for us when we go to apply for our pr, but i am not sure if i believe that now.

Such a shame it is all changing now, i think it will force a lot of people to sell up and leave.

It does seem to be a crazy time here. For Sure.

Do they use cards to pay for everything though ..it might help.

It has always been that the sum has to be from abroad  and from one's own account abroad to one's own account in Cyprus though.

I don't think it will be a problem for you .... We have our PR since 2019 we haven't got the biometric card yet .. but will be applying for it in due course probably when they force it on me as my PR MEU3 has no expiry date and biometrics do  plus as it's not mandatory for us yet so will take my time ...it's the Cyprus way you know ...

The thing is there does seem to be a lot of conflicting chatter as I've heard that different values and different renewal incomes have been accepted at renewal ....maybe it's because of the changes happening so quickly and so often staff are not keeping pace with it... We already know that various departments not just immigration are struggling.. Council.of Ministers...Land Registry ... Ministry of Interior.... Ministry of Transport ... CTO ... Even GESY is under pressure and failing in so many administrative ways

@Toon yes we have the cards, they will last us 5 years. We were also told although uou apply for permanant the cards will only last as long as your passport and then you have to renew them.

Toon

Again you see down to interpretation PR biometrics expire after 10 years... ( Which is the length of time of a standard passport but they are assuming  that passport and biometric card are applied for at same time.. highly unlikely) And there is logic in issuing TR biometrics for 5yrs as at 5 years completed your are obligated to apply for PR . As far as I am aware there is a regulation that states that PR must be applied for when due and failure to do so rendering the card older liable to a fine of €2500 .. I don't know if that regulation has been changed.....amongst all the other changes further I don't know or have heard of anyone who has been fined for not applying for PR when due..

@dvb123 no such thing as fast track category F. Fast Track is a completely different visa.
