Car Insurance for shipping

I will shortly be shipping my personal possessions to Cyprus along with my car in a container

the relocation people tell me my possessions are insured crossing the water but not my car and I will have to take out separate insurance for this. I had one quote which for a 6 week crossing cover was very expensive. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I shipped a car back from USA to Southampton. Same story - very expensive, so took a chance and didn’t insure. The car’s insurance covered it from the time the wheels left the ground until they touched in UK. (It didn’t specify how hard they touched the ground!) Mine was transatlantic, shouldn’t be much of a risk in the Med in Summer?
