housing scam in Lisbon

Post new topic

James M76

Hi all

Has anyone had an experience with quartoequartos ? The offer accodomadtion in Lisbon and it is run and owned by a lawyer called P***. He is known to violate the law by threatening people, insulting, blackmailing and even false accusations all on emial.

Worse so, he does not refund deposits and dares anyone that claims to try and involve authorities.

I have first hand experience and many others have been victims to the scammer.

Anyone know what can be done to stop the scamming ?

Fred

Opinions vary, but my experience of reviews tells me to avoid them.

One bad review can be a bad customer, a lot general suggests care

@Fred that is right.

*** the owner/manager has on email dared anyone to report him to the police claiming that the Police know who he is.

I agree with @Fred. If there are many claims, it is because something is not right. In this claims portal, the evaluation is also negative:

Uniplaces has a much more positive rating, and is mostly chosen by Portuguese and foreign university students.

Unfortunately uniplaces also advertises the said rooms and when people complain they seem to be least bothered so kind of also perpetuating the wrongdoings.

Would it be possible to get some TV station to highlight the plight of victims ? and maybe it will draw the attention of relevant authorities.

Well, the company also has a lot of excellent reviews. It's about 30% very good and 70% very bad. How come? It the very good reviews are not fake then it appears that 30% of clients are very happy and I wonder what the reason is? Considering that Lisbon is a tourist hot spot these days then maybe this doesn't work well with also being a student/worker hot spot.

You can also start writing to the companies advertised as "partners" in the website of the company your are complaining about

just be neutral and factual, that's it ;)

@Inma cha As mentioned before, you should be careful to not get charged with defamation.
