Looking for opportunities with the intention to emigrate

markgolledge

Hello everyone!

I'm a multi-skilled UK national looking for work in Vietnam with the intention to emigrate and earn citizenship for the long term.

I've worked in hospitality, hotel management, construction, game keeping/estates and grounds maintenance, horticulture, landscaping and conservation.

Any advice, tips you name it whatever you have throw it at me (within reason).

All I'm looking for is the opportunity to prove my worth and achieve my dream of coming to Vietnam.

Hanoi and Ha Long are Highly desired locations.

Looking forward to making contacts and getting the ball rolling fast

Sorry but with your experience and skill set you will have a very difficult time finding a job in Vietnam.  Virtually impossible.  The occupations that you list can all be filled with local Vietnamese citizens which is mandated by the government over offering jobs to non-citizens unless there is a specific reason that they cannot fill them with local talent.  Plus you don't speak Vietnamese which would be essential for any of the positions you have listed.

Also you will never get Vietnamese citizenship.  Sorry to be blunt but it just won't happen.

If you have a four year degree you can teach English like virtually everyone else that tries to get a job in Vietnam.  That's about your only job path.  If you don't have a four year degree your job outlook is beyond bleak.

Totally agree with your post except for this bit. I still meet people teaching English here without degree or English being their native language.

On my monthly e visa runs now 7 in total with 4 on the Moc Bai bus run organised by my longstanding & trusted Visa agent at least 50% of the regular people on the bus are "English Teachers" so if they have the requisite gov qualifications why are they doing monthly e visa runs.

Like everything here there is what's stated & there is what actually happens.

Your reply OB is funny but to the point in a diplomatic way as usual. My reply is more brutal but again to the point!! The guy is delusional, check his intro & what he states as his "multi skill sets" & then his qualifications & work history. Every one of them would take at least 5 years to become proficient & skilled. I my time as an offshore maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Manager & finally Rig Manager I have seen countless CV's like this & every one of them immediately ended up in the trash bin!

Hello Markgolledge,

Welcome on board !

Have you contacted some hotels to offer your candidacy ? (maybe those you worked for have a branch in Vietnam)

Regards
