Hi, I am hoping to move to Spain soon (Irish passport) and need to know about whether I can obtain a tourist licence for the property I buy (inland Malaga). Who do I apply to? What will they look for? Is a BnB counted as an autonimo? Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers, Noel

The licence you need is detailed in the link.

This is the link for Andalucia.

Officially a B&B is not "a thing" in Spain that is a name the expat communities use. So your business idea might fall into one of many tourist accommodation classifications listed.

Here is some explanations about the process of obtaining permissions via unofficial websites.

How you run the tourism business has many factors which can influence that decision. Get in contact with an Gestoría talk to them about the advatages of viarious wasy to run a business in Spain. Again setting up one will cost money.

Given the amount of paperwork and permissions you have to seek it may be quicker, easier and cheaper to purchase a property with a licence. Making changes to the property may invoke any permissions to operate.
