Expat Housing timing

Post new topic

augcetoile

Hello all,

I’m a bit confused with the informations I’ve read regarding the housing for expat. Is it true that we need to have a contract/place already lined up before we arrive in Belgium?

I read that we need to show up within 8 days to the local authorities and inform about the address to get the final part of residence - but I’ve been a bit resistant to sign a contract before seeing the place in person/ know a bit more of the area, etc.

if anyone has some suggestions or comments about this topic, I’d be very grateful!

thanks
