Hi, can anyone share with me if a license is needed in Mauritius to ride a motorbike?  I do hv a motorbike license from my home country, but not sure if it is acceptable here?

Besides, is it safe to ride a motorbike in Mauritius?  Would the paperwork for owning one be troublesome for foreigner?  How about resale value?

Thanks :)

If you have a license from your country, it will allow you to ride here as a tourist.

If you are planning on staying and working here, you have to go to the line Barracks in Port Louis and have it "registered".
